There was a fatal motorcycle accident in Peoria, Illinois early Thursday morning.
The motorcyclist who died following the accident has been identified as Kurt R. Ringenberg, 39, of Dunlap. He was pronounced dead at 1:12 a.m. at the accident scene.
Ringenberg had been northbound on University about 12:20 a.m. when he apparently failed to negotiate a curve, hit the curb, and was thrown from the motorcycle. An autopsy performed Thursday indicated the cause of death to be head and chest injuries.
According to reports, Ringenberg had also crashed his motorcycle moments before the second, fatal crash. In this previous crash, a unidentified person helped him.
