There was a fatal motorcycle accident Saturday (May 18) in Peoria County, Illinois.
The accident happened on Route 24 near Kingston Mines Road shortly before 10:00 a.m., and involved a motorcycle, ridden by Roger D. Hutchison, 61, of Tremont, colliding with a car.
An excerpt from the May 19 Pekin Times article titled “Tremont man killed in motorcycle accident” :
Hutchison was reportedly traveling west on Route 24 behind another vehicle that slowed to make a turn onto northbound Kingston Mines Road. Another vehicle, driven by Amy Ciota, then proceeded into the intersection to turn onto northbound Route 24.
Hutchison, the lone rider on the motorcycle, hit the driver’s side front bumper of Ciota’s vehicle.
Hutchison was pronounced dead at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.
An investigation is ongoing.
