Fatal Motorcycle Accident In Marseilles, Illinois

There was a fatal Illinois motorcycle accident Saturday, June 21, 2014, in Marseilles, Illinois.

Based upon a preliminary investigation, the fatal motorcycle crash happened at approximately 6:30 p.m.  on U.S. 6 in Marseilles, and involved a motorcyclist failing to negotiate a curve and losing control, at which point he struck a guardrail.

The motorcyclist was identified as Douglas A. Peters, 43, of Algonquin.  He was flown via helicopter to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa, where he was later pronounced dead.
