There was a fatal Illinois motorcycle accident Sunday (August 3, 2014) near Momence, Illinois.
According to the Illinois State Police, the motorcycle accident happened at approximately 3:40 p.m. on Illinois Route 114 as one motorcycle, with a rider and passenger, was behind another. At that point, the rear motorcycle “rear-ended” or otherwise hit the front bike, possibly while attempting to pass it.
The passenger on the rear bike, Gloria F. York, 43, of Momence, was declared dead at the accident scene by the Kankakee County Coroner’s Office.
The rider of that motorcycle was also injured and hospitalized. He was identified as Michael J. Miller, 34, of Momence.
The rider of the front bike was identified as a 50-year-old man from Tinley Park, who was also injured and hospitalized.
This Illinois motorcycle accident remains under investigation.
