There was a fatal Illinois motorcyclist accident on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, in Granite City, Illinois.
According to the Illinois State Police (ISP), witnesses say that this motorcycle accident happened at approximately 3:02 p.m. as a motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed, and lost control as he was on the ramp from Illinois 203 to eastbound Interstate 270. After the motorcyclist lost control, he collided with a guardrail.
After being taken to a local hospital, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead.
The motorcyclist was identified as Lester E. Ames, 45, of Jerseyville, Illinois.
This fatal motorcycle collision remains under investigation by the ISP.
