A fatal motorcycle accident has claimed the life of a Glenview resident today.
Rodastin Kolev, 25, of Glenview was heading northbound on Magnolia Street on his motorcycle shortly after noon. As he reached the intersection of Magnolia and West Lake Avenue, he failed to obey a stop sign, according to police. He collided with a car, a 2001 Saturn traveling eastbound on West Lake Avenue.
According to the Cook County medical examiner’s office, Kolev was pronounced dead 30 minutes after being taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
The driver of the Saturn was not injured in the crash.
The Glenview Police Department’s Traffic Unit and the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force’s Major Crash Assistance Team continue to investigate the accident.
