There was a fatal motorcycle accident on Saturday night in Gillespie, Illinois.
The accident happened at approximately 10:52 p.m., as a motorcyclist was traveling south on Illinois Route 4 near Clark Street. According to the Illinois State Police, the motorcyclist was passing a vehicle in his lane, and as he was returning into his lane, he struck a vehicle also traveling south on Illinois Route 4.
The motorcyclist has been identified as Cory Broderick, 28, of Benld.
Broderick was taken to a nearby hospital and died of his injuries. The cause of death was determined to be head and chest trauma.
