Fatal Motorcycle Accident In Geneva, Illinois

This morning there was a fatal motorcycle accident in Geneva Township.

Details on the accident are somewhat limited at this time; however, various media sources are reporting that the accident happened at approximately 7:00 a.m. at Kirk Road and Cherry Lane.

The accident happened when a semi truck was turning from Cherry Lane to go north onto Kirk Road.  A motorcyclist, identified as Eric Mondragon, 27, of Elgin, traveling south on Kirk Road at what is said to be a high rate of speed, struck the side of the truck’s trailer.

Mondragon was pronounced dead at the accident scene; the truck’s driver was not injured.
