There was a fatal motorcycle accident in Colona, Illinois on June 14 that led to the deaths of a father and his son.
The accident happened as the father and son were riding a motorcycle west on U.S. 6. At about 2:00 p.m., a car attempted to turn north onto Illinois 84 from U.S. 6, thereby coming into the path of the motorcycle. The car and motorcycle collided, with the father and son being thrown from the motorcycle.
The father has been identified as Scott Teerlink, 41, of Geneseo. He was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
The son, Luke Teerlink, 10 years old, died from his injuries the next day.
The driver of the car was issued a traffic citation.
