Fatal Morton Grove Motorcycle Collision

There was a fatal motorcycle accident Thursday evening (June 15, 2017) in Morton Grove.

Details on the accident appear somewhat limited at this time.

According to the Morton Grove Police Department, police responded to the accident at approximately 7:40 p.m.  A collision had occurred between a motorcycle and pickup truck on the north side of the street in the 6100 block of North Oakton Street.

The motorcyclist (later identified as Delano Powell, 31, of Chicago) was found unresponsive at the accident scene, and he was pronounced dead after being taken to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.

Police said there was no evidence of intoxication and the cause of the crash remained under investigation Friday morning. The driver of the pickup was cooperating with investigators.
