Fatal Kankakee County Motorcycle Accident Involving Loss Of Control

There was a fatal Kankakee County motorcycle accident Saturday (July 14, 2018) evening.

According to the Kankakee County Coroner, the crash happened as a motorcycle was heading westbound on 9000N Road, just west of U.S. Route 45/52, when the motorcyclist – for a currently undisclosed reason – apparently lost control of the motorcycle and crashed at 7:21 p.m.  There was also a passenger on the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was identified as Alexander M. Thompson, 29, of Bonfield.  He was taken to Riverside Medical Center and pronounced dead.

The passenger on the motorcycle was also taken to Riverside Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Speed appears to have been a factor, according to Manteno police.

According to Manteno Police, neither the motorcyclist or passenger were wearing motorcycle helmets at the time of the crash.
