There was a fatal motorcycle accident Thursday afternoon (Jun 8, 2017) in Jackson County, Illinois. The crash occurred in Vergennes.
According to information provided by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened at approximately 1:07 p.m., and involved a collision between a box truck and motorcycle.

Lindle Pickering, 76, of Sparta was driving a 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound on Illinois 4 when a 2014 Isuzu box truck traveling eastbound turned left onto Mudline Road, in front of the motorcycle. Pickering was ejected from the motorcycle, suffering life-threatening injuries. Civilians at the scene performed CPR on Pickering, until paramedics arrived and transported him to a local hospital, where he died of his injuries.
