According to the release, the motorcyclists were driving southbound on Route 148 near Pigeon Creek Road when they switched into the northbound lane.
A tractor trailer, driven by a person whose identity was not released by police, in the northbound lane hit the motorcycle head-on, killing both people.
According to the release, the motorcyclists were improperly changing lanes and the tractor trailer driver could not have avoided hitting them.
