There was a fatal Illinois motorcycle accident Friday (July 25, 2014) in Saline County.
The motorcycle accident happened on Illinois 13 near Harco Road. Emergency responders were alerted to the accident at 7:45 a.m.
The accident happened as the motorcyclist and a SUV behind him were traveling eastbound, both in the right lane.
The motorcyclist was identified as Lance P. Avery, 60, of Creal Springs, Illinois. The driver of the SUV was identified as Kim H. Fowler, 68, of Harrisburg, Illinois.

Avery slowed down and turned the motorcycle into the left eastbound lane for unknown reasons. Police say at the same time and for unknown reasons, Fowler also changed direction into the left eastbound lane. The front of the SUV hit the motorcycle on the left side.
Avery was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
Fowler was apparently uninjured during the accident.
