There was a fatal motorcycle accident Friday afternoon (May 12, 2017) in Elgin. The accident involved a collision between a motorcycle and another vehicle.
According to preliminary accident information provided by the Elgin Police Department, a motorcyclist (identified as Edward Kaneshiro, 72, of Elgin) was riding westbound on Summit Street collided with a vehicle traveling south on Shady Oaks Drive. The collision happened at the intersection of those two streets. First responders went to the accident scene at 2:47 p.m.
Kaneshiro was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured.
