There can be many reasons for loss of control of a motorcycle, as discussed on the “Motorcycle Loss Of Control Accidents.”
One of those reasons is excessive speed. This is especially so if a motorcyclist is attempting to turn.
Recently, there was a fatal motorcycle accident in Michigan in which excessive speed is being attributed to a fatal crash. An excerpt from the August 8, 2015 Macomb Daily article titled “Motorcyclist dies in Clinton Township crash“:
Clinton Township police said Friday’s incident took place on Romeo Plank Road south of Hall Road (M-59).
According to an eyewitness account and police, “The motorcycle turned off Hall Road onto southbound Romeo Plank at a high-rate of speed. The driver of the motorcycle was unable to manage the curve in the roadway and struck a guardrail.”
The man died at the scene, police said. His name has not been released.
Additional details regarding the crash can be seen in the Macomb Daily article mentioned above, as well as a summary of other recent fatal motorcycle accidents in Macomb County.
