There was a motorcycle accident Tuesday (May 22, 2018) night in Chicago’s Loop which is being attributed to a driver disobeying a traffic signal. Four motorcyclists were injured after four motorcycles crashed into a car. One of those injured motorcyclists was in critical condition.
According to Chicago Police, a 58-year-old woman driving a vehicle westbound on Lower Wacker Drive, near Clark Street, made a left-hand turn, disobeying a sign that instructed drivers to only turn when they had the green turn light.
While turning, four eastbound motorcycles crashed into her car.
One of the motorcyclists, a 35-year-old man, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for treatment of his accident injuries. He was in critical condition.
The three other motorcyclists were also taken to hospitals for medical treatment.
The 58-year-old woman also was taken to Stroger, where she was stable. Officers issued a traffic citation to the woman, alleging she disobeyed a turn signal.
