Douglas County Motorcycle Crash Seriously Injures Rider And Passenger

A Douglas County motorcycle crash occurred Friday (May 22, 2020) morning. This Douglass County motorcycle crash led to the motorcyclist and passenger being seriously injured and hospitalized.

ISP said the crash happened on U.S. Route 36 eastbound at 610 East Road in Douglas County around 11:30 a.m. 

According to ISP, a GMC Envoy was stopped at a stop sign and for an unknown reason the driver of a 2019 Harley Davidson struck the back of the GMC. 

Both the motorcyclist and passenger were injured during this Douglass County crash. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The passenger was flown to a local hospital for medical treatment of serious injuries.

The driver of the GMC Envoy was not injured during this collision.

As seen in the article, the Illinois State Police said the motorcyclist was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
