There was a motorcycle accident on Illinois Route 149 in Jackson County, Illinois on Tuesday, September 6, 2016. The accident involved a collision between a motorcycle and golf cart.
According to the Illinois State Police (ISP), the collision occurred at 10:00 a.m. on Illinois Route 149. At that time, a motorcyclist traveling west on IL Route 149, who was attempting to pass a vehicle in a “no-passing” zone, struck a man in a golf cart who was attempting to cross IL Route 149 at a private drive.
During the collision, both the motorcyclist and man traveling in the golf cart were ejected from their respective vehicles.
The motorcyclist, identified as Sean Gardner, 45, of Murphysboro, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his accident injuries. He was later airlifted to St. Louis University Hospital.
The driver of the golf cart, identified as Howard Mileur, 61, of Murphysboro, refused medical treatment at the accident scene.
