There was a collision between a motorcycle and SUV Monday night (October 3, 2016) in Chicago’s East Side neighborhood. Two people traveling on the motorcycle and one passenger in the SUV died as a result of the crash.
According to Chicago Police, the collision occurred at approximately 10:20 p.m., in the10500 block of South Indianapolis Avenue. The crash occurred when a motorcycle traveling eastbound on South Indianapolis Avenue collided with (“T-boned”) a westbound SUV that was making a left-hand turn onto South Avenue B. The motorcycle reportedly “ran the red light” and may have been traveling at a high speed just before the collision. The SUV rolled onto its side, likely as a result of the force of the impact.
Both the motorcyclist and passenger on the motorcycle, as well as the front seat passenger of the SUV, died at the accident scene. The two people on the motorcycle have not yet been publicly identified. The passenger in the SUV has been identified as Jamie Trickle, 35, of Chicago.
The driver of the SUV, identified only as a 28-year-old woman, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center for treatment of her accident injuries. She was in critical condition.
The Chicago Police Department’s Major Accidents Investigation Unit is conducting the traffic accident investigation.
