Often, motorcycle crashes lead to the motorcyclist and/or passenger being ejected. Often, when these ejections happen, serious accident injuries result. The topic of motorcyclist ejections is further discussed on the “Motorcycle Crashes Involving Motorcyclist Ejections” page. As discussed on that page, one of the best ways to prevent serious head injuries during an ejection is to wear a motorcycle helmet. While wearing a helmet is not required by Illinois law, the safety benefits of such helmet usage is seen in various accident injury statistics.
