There was a Carroll County motorcycle accident Wednesday (July 4, 2018) morning in Shannon, Illinois. The accident involved a collision between a car and motorcycle.
Carroll County Sheriff’s Department Deputies responded to the accident at 11:32 a.m. The accident scene was at the intersection of Route 72 and Shannon Road.

Police say a car traveling south on Shannon Road stopped at a stop sign then pulled into the intersection – right into the path of a motorcycle.
The driver of the motorcycle, Gordon Vaughn, 58, of Mount Morris, was airlifted to Mercyhealth in Rockford. His passenger, Peggy Janssen, 59, of Mount Morris, went to Mercyhealth by ambulance. Their conditions aren’t known.

Wagner was issued a citation for failure to yield at a stop intersection.
