Back of the Yards Crash Leads To Motorcyclist Fatality

There was a Back of the Yards crash involving a motorcycle and another vehicle. This fatal Back of the Yards crash occurred on Monday (June 8, 2020) morning.

This fatal motorcycle accident on the South Side of Chicago is discussed in a variety of media sources, including the June 10, 2020 Chicago Sun-Times article titled “Motorcyclist killed in Back of the Yards crash.”

The 45-year-old was southbound on a Honda motorcycle about 9:24 a.m. in the 4500 block of South Racine Avenue when he struck a GMC, Chicago police said.

According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead after being taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center. He was identified as Samuel Perez, of Marquette Park.

Autopsy results indicate that he died of injuries sustained during the accident. His death was ruled an accident.
