A vehicle “rear-ended” a motorcycle Thursday (June 7, 2018) evening in Chicago’s Edgebrook neighborhood. The fatal motorcycle crash was a hit-and-run accident in which the vehicle – likely a car – left the accident scene.
According to Chicago Police, the fatal crash happened at approximately 7:45 p.m., as the motorcyclist was riding in the 5100 block of West Devon Avenue. At that time, the motorcycle was “rear-ended” by a vehicle described as small and black. The motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle and he hit a tree.
The motorcyclist was identified as Steven Lajin, 22, of the West Rogers Park neighborhood. He was taken to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he was pronounced dead.
The motorcycle accident investigation is being conducted by the Chicago Police Department Major Accident Investigation Unit.
