There was a fatal motorcycle crash on Illinois Route 59 in Plainfield early this morning (April 28, 2015) involving a motorcyclist colliding with a pedestrian.
Based upon preliminary information, the collision occurred between the motorcycle and pedestrian sometime shortly after midnight. According to Plainfield Police, the motorcyclist was traveling north on Route 59, and the pedestrian was near Route 59 at Lockport at the time of the collision.
The pedestrian, who has yet to be publicly identified, died at the accident scene.
The motorcyclist, identified as Sean Fitzpatrick, 27, of Plainfield, was taken to Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. He was pronounced dead at 12:39 a.m., according to the Will County Coroner’s Office.

An official at the scene told reporters the motorcycle was found a couple of blocks from the actual scene of impact.
The accident remains under investigation.
