2 Injured When Motorcycle Collides With Truck In Pekin, Illinois

A motorcycle accident in Pekin, Illinois on Thursday, June 7, has left the motorcyclist and passenger injured.

The accident happened shortly before 1:00 p.m. on South 14th Street.

A driver of a U-Haul truck was stopped at a stop sign at Gingoteague Street.  As he pulled away from the stop sign to continue west onto Rosemary, he collided with the motorcycle.  The rental truck driver says he looked both ways and did not see the motorcycle; the truck driver was not injured during the accident.

According to an excerpt from the Pekin Daily Times article of June 7, titled “Motorcycle crash leaves two injured” :

Police Deputy Chief Don Baxter said the two victims were identified as motorcycle driver Hallie Beimfohr and his wife, passenger Rita Beimfohr. They were rushed in separate ambulances to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria — Hallie Beimfohr with reported head injuries and Rita Beimfohr with wounds that included an open leg fracture. Baxter said Thursday night that he was told they were both in stable condition.
