There were two motorcycle accidents in Peoria County over the weekend, from which three people died.

The two accidents are discussed in the June 28, 2015 pjstar.com article titled “Third motorcycle fatality reported in Peoria County this weekend.”

The first motorcycle accident happened on Illinois Route 29 Saturday afternoon, and this accident involved a married couple, William McMurtry, 51, and his wife, Kimberly, 46, of Morton, who were riding on a motorcycle.

In this accident, which happened at approximately 12:55 p.m., a nail in the rear motorcycle tire caused a blowout, and the couple was ejected from the motorcycle.

Ingersoll said Kimberly McMurtry was pronounced dead at 1:38 p.m. Saturday at the scene of the crash of multiple blunt injuries to the head and chest. William McMurtry died at 9:52 a.m. Sunday at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Ingersoll said.
