Motorcyclist Killed On I-88 In Illinois, Cause Of Accident In Dispute

On Friday night, August 26, Nicholas Linton, 29, of Aurora was killed while riding his motorcycle on I88 (Interstate 88) near the Winfield Road exit.  The accident occurred around 9:15 p.m.

The cause of the accident remains in dispute, and the accident remains under investigation.

There appears to be two differing views on the cause of the accident; one, that Linton and a fellow motorcyclist collided; the second, that an Illinois State Trooper got in front of the motorcyclists and “cut off” Linton, thereby causing his fall. Details on the accident can be seen in the August 29 Beacon-News article titled “Aurora motorcyclist dies on I-88; friends blame state trooper.”
