A motorcyclist has died following a collision with a SUV in Richmond.
The crash happened Wednesday (August 10, 2016) on Route 12 just after 6:00 p.m. At that time, a motorcycle and SUV collided near the Depot Restaurant.
The motorcyclist was identified as Steven Thomas, 26, of Richmond. He was in critical condition after the accident. Thomas was flown to the Level 1 Trauma Center at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
He died Thursday afternoon at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
The driver of the SUV was identified as Christian Heaney, 44, of Johnsburg.
Heaney was taken to Centegra Hospital in McHenry for treatment of his accident injuries, which were considered to be non-life-threatening in nature.

Christian Heaney was charged with aggravated driving under the influence, Richmond Police Lt. Scott Adams said. He was released from McHenry County Jail custody after posting bond Thursday morning, according to jail records.
