Motorcyclist And Passenger Injured In I-57 Loss Of Control Accident

There was a motorcycle accident on Interstate 57 (I-57) in Jefferson County.   The accident involved a motorcycle loss of control in an area undergoing road construction.

According to the Illinois State Police (ISP) the accident happened on northbound I-57 at approximately 11:00 a.m.  At that time, a motorcycle with passenger crashed.

An excerpt from thesouthern.com article of July 17, 2016, titled “Two from Indiana injured in motorcycle crash“:

William Hogan, 76, of Kokomo, Indiana, was northbound 11 a.m. on I57, near milepost 103, along with passenger Gladys Hogan, 72. The roadway is under construction and the lanes uneven. William Hogan lost control of the motorcycle on the uneven roadway and crashed into the guardrail.

Both were taken to Crossroads Hospital in Mount Vernon for treatment of their accident injuries.  William Hogan was later airlifted to a hospital in the St. Louis area.
