There was a motorcycle accident today (August 27, 2014) in Palatine, Illinois.
According to Palatine Police, this motorcycle accident happened shortly before 1:00 p.m. as a motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Hicks Road. As he approached Dundee Road, a car attempted to make a right-hand turn out of a Jewel parking lot onto Hicks, and the motorcycle and car collided.
The motorcyclist, identified as a 64-year-old Naperville man, was taken to Lutheran General Hospital with injuries that included head trauma. His injuries were considered to be “potentially life-threatening.”
The driver of the car, identified as a 23-year-old man from Hoffman Estates, was not injured during the accident.

The case is being investigated by the Palatine Police Department and the Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (S.T.A.R.) Team, a multi-jurisdictional crash investigation assistance team comprised of crash reconstruction specialists from Palatine and neighboring police departments.
No charges have been filed at this time.
