There was a fatal motorcycle accident in Joliet, Illinois on Sunday night, September 21, 2014. Two people, the motorcyclist and a passenger, died in the crash.
According to Joliet Police, the motorcycle accident happened at approximately 9:06 p.m., when a motorcyclist and passenger riding on a Harley-Davidson left the roadway for an unknown reason near Barney Drive and Glenwood Avenue, and struck a building at 2455 Glenwood Ave.
Both the motorcyclist and passenger were ejected from the bike during the collision.
The motorcyclist was identified as Patrick T. Ortiz, 34, of Channahon. The motorcycle’s passenger was identified as Amy Reed, 24, of Palos Hills.
Both were taken to Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center. According to the Will County Coroner’s Office, Ortiz died at 9:27 p.m. and Amy Reed died at 9:54 p.m.
