Fatal Motorcycle Accident In Kankakee County Leaves One Man Dead

A fatal motorcycle accident occurred in Kankakee County, Illinois on Monday afternoon at around 3:45 p.m.

Killed was Anthony J. Perry, 54, of Calumet City.  He was riding his motorcycle, a 2002 Harley, east on Illinois Route 17 near 8000 West Road, when he ran into the back of a stopped car, a 2006 Honda, which had stopped for a school bus that was unloading, according to police.

The impact of the collision tossed Perry and his passenger from the motorcycle; it also pushed the Honda into the car ahead of it.

According to police, Perry was unable to stop his motorcycle in time to avoid the collision, but they didn’t say whether speed played a factor.

The drivers of the other two vehicles weren’t injured.

Perry and his passenger, whom authorities haven’t identified, were taken to Riverside Medical Center, where Perry was pronounced dead.

The crash is under investigation.
