There was a fatal motorcycle crash Thursday afternoon (September 21, 2017) in Jackson County, Illinois. The accident involved a collision between a motorcycle and pickup truck on U.S. Highway 51.

It happened Thursday at 3:36 p.m., just north of U.S. Highway 51., and Traux Traer Road.
Deputies say someone driving a pickup truck was heading south on U.S. 51 when they slowed down to turn into a driveway.
The driver of a motorcycle failed to yield, and rear-ended the truck.
The motorcyclist was declared dead at the accident scene. The Jackson County Coroner identified him as Shaun A. Morgan, 40, of Tamaroa. An autopsy revealed that he died of blunt force trauma due to the collision.
The accident investigation continues.
