Fatal Edgebrook Neighborhood Motorcycle Collision

There was a fatal motorcycle collision Saturday morning (September 9, 2017) in Chicago’s Edgebrook neighborhood.  The collision involved a motorcycle and delivery truck.

According to Chicago Police, the collision happened at approximately 11:55 a.m., at the intersection of Lehigh Avenue and Hiawatha Avenue.

An excerpt regarding the crash, from the September 10, 2017 Chicago Tribune article titled “1 dead after motorcycle, truck collide in Edgebrook“:

A motorcycle and a delivery truck collided at the intersection of Lehigh and Hiawatha Avenues in the Edgebrook neighborhood about 11:55 a.m. Saturday, police said.

The delivery truck was turning into the northbound lanes when the motorcyclist, who had been traveling south, crash into the truck, police said.

The motorcyclist was identified as Ronald Koschalk, 58, of Chicago.  He was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

According to Chicago Police, the truck driver was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
