Belvidere Fatal Motorcycle Collision

There was a fatal motorcycle accident Saturday afternoon (September 9, 2017) in Belvidere.  The accident involved a collision between a motorcycle and Jeep.

The accident happened at approximately 1:40 p.m. in the 5500 block of Newburg Road.

An excerpt regarding the collision, from the September 10, 2017 wifr.com article titled “Motorcyclist dies after crash in Belvidere“:

Officers say witnesses at the scene tell them the motorcyclist was passing vehicles and traveling at a high speed on Newburg Road. They say one witness reported a Jeep Cherokee was stopped to turn when the motorcycle was unable to stop in time before hitting the rear end of the Jeep, where the driver was thrown from the motorcycle.

Paramedics took the motorcyclist, later identified as Brian Fulton, 26, of Belvidere, to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The accident remains under investigation by the Belvidere Police Department.
