Streamwood Accident Involving Motorcycle That Struck A Tree

There was a fatal motorcycle crash Thursday (May 24, 2018) afternoon in Streamwood involving a motorcycle that struck a tree.

The crash happened in the 100 block of Schaumburg Road (near Bartlett Road,) and involved a motorcycle that was traveling eastbound.  For a currently undisclosed reason, the motorcycle left the roadway and struck a tree.  First responders were called to the accident scene at approximately 12:59 p.m.

The motorcyclist, identified as Vincent Korpalski, 20, of Streamwood, was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital for treatment of his accident injuries.  According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, he died at approximately 5:35 p.m.

This fatal Illinois motorcycle accident remains under investigation.

Driver Disobeying A Traffic Signal Crashes Into Four Motorcycles

There was a motorcycle accident Tuesday (May 22, 2018) night in Chicago’s Loop which is being attributed to a driver disobeying a traffic signal.  Four motorcyclists were injured after four motorcycles crashed into a car.  One of those injured motorcyclists was in critical condition.

According to Chicago Police, a 58-year-old woman driving a vehicle westbound on Lower Wacker Drive, near Clark Street, made a left-hand turn, disobeying a sign that instructed drivers to only turn when they had the green turn light.

While turning, four eastbound motorcycles crashed into her car.

One of the motorcyclists, a 35-year-old man, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for treatment of his accident injuries.  He was in critical condition.

The three other motorcyclists were also taken to hospitals for medical treatment.

The 58-year-old woman also was taken to Stroger, where she was stable. Officers issued a traffic citation to the woman, alleging she disobeyed a turn signal.

Motorcycle Collision With A Semi Truck In Unincorporated Kaneville Twsp.

There was a motorcycle collision with a semi truck Friday (May 18, 2018) afternoon in unincorporated Kaneville Township.

Kane County Sheriff’s Department deputies were called to the accident scene at 12:33 p.m.  The accident occurred at the intersection of Main Street and South Lorang Road.

The sheriff’s office said initial investigation indicated that a 61 year-old Elgin man, driving a Freightliner semi-tractor was traveling west on Main St. and began to turn south onto South Lorang Rd.

Fifty-eight-year-old James Bailey of Aurora was driving his Harley Davidson motorcycle west on Main St. and struck the passenger side of the semi.

Bailey was flown to a hospital; his accident injuries were considered to be non-life-threatening in nature.

At the time of the accident, he was not wearing a motorcycle helmet.

The accident investigation continues.

Hit-And-Run Accident In Hazel Crest Involving Motorcycle And Car

There was a hit-and-run accident early Sunday (May 20, 2018) morning in Hazel Crest.  The accident involved a collision between a motorcycle with a car.  After the collision the car’s driver fled from the accident scene.

The crash happened about 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of 167th Street and Kedzie Avenue, according to Hazel Crest police at the scene. Two people were hit by a white Chevrolet Impala, which continued south on Kedzie.

The two people injured were taken to the hospital for treatment of their accident injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.

Fatal Streamwood Motorcycle Collision Involving Car

There was a fatal Streamwood motorcycle collision Wednesday (May 16, 2018) afternoon.  The accident involved a collision between a motorcycle and car.  The motorcyclist was identified as Jeffery Beuder, 62, of Streamwood.

Streamwood Police responded to the crash at 3:28 p.m.

An excerpt regarding the crash, from the May 18, 2018 Daily Herald article titled “Streamwood motorcyclist killed in collision“:

The preliminary investigation determined a 2012 Chevrolet Sonic was entering Schaumburg Road south from Green Meadows Boulevard when the collision with Beuder’s 1998 Kawasaki motorcycle occurred.

Beuder was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates for treatment of his accident injuries.  He was pronounced dead at 4:12 p.m.

A subsequent autopsy conducted by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office indicated that Beuder died from multiple injuries that occurred during the collision.

The driver of the Chevrolet Sonic was not injured during the accident.

The accident investigation is ongoing and fault for the accident has yet to be determined.
