Fatal Williamson County Motorcycle Crash

There was a fatal motorcycle accident Saturday afternoon (June 24, 2017) in Williamson County.

Details on the accident are somewhat limited.

According to the Willamson County Coroner, the motorcyclist has been identified as Zachary Williard, 32, of Johnston City.  He was declared dead at the accident scene.

An excerpt regarding the cause of the fatal crash, as seen in The Southern article of June 26, 2017, titled “Johnston City man killed in weekend motorcycle crash“:

According to the release, the accident occurred at approximately 3:17 p.m. Saturday, when Willard, who was traveling east on Herrin Road, struck an eastbound vehicle making a right hand turn into a driveway.

The accident investigation is being conducted by the Williamson County Coroner and the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department.

Fatal Motorcycle Ejection In Chicago’s Garfield Ridge Neighborhood

There was a fatal motorcycle accident Sunday night (June 18, 2017) on Chicago’s Garfield Ridge neighborhood.  The accident happened near Midway Airport.

According to Chicago Police, the accident happened in the 5000 block of West 55th Street at approximately 10:00 p.m.  At that time, a motorcyclist riding a Ducati motorcycle eastbound “rear-ended” a GMC Acadia that was pulling out of a parking lot, heading east.  During the collision, the motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle and landed in the opposite lane of traffic.  A Jeep Wrangler traveling westbound then ran over the man.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the accident scene.  According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, the motorcyclist was identified as Matthew J. Bobak, 29, of Justice.

The traffic accident investigation is being conducted by the Chicago Police Major Accidents Investigation Unit.

Fatal Morton Grove Motorcycle Collision

There was a fatal motorcycle accident Thursday evening (June 15, 2017) in Morton Grove.

Details on the accident appear somewhat limited at this time.

According to the Morton Grove Police Department, police responded to the accident at approximately 7:40 p.m.  A collision had occurred between a motorcycle and pickup truck on the north side of the street in the 6100 block of North Oakton Street.

The motorcyclist (later identified as Delano Powell, 31, of Chicago) was found unresponsive at the accident scene, and he was pronounced dead after being taken to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.

Police said there was no evidence of intoxication and the cause of the crash remained under investigation Friday morning. The driver of the pickup was cooperating with investigators.

Motorcyclist Dies Following Romeoville Motorcycle Accident

A motorcyclist has died following a June 1, 2017 motorcycle accident in Romeoville.

The motorcyclist, Jason Weller, 28, of Plainfield, died June 8 at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.

About 9:21 p.m. on June 1, Weller had been riding a red and white Honda motorcycle near Taylor Road and Weslake Parkway when the bike collided with a gray Honda Accord.

Romeoville police said the Accord was driven by a 17-year-old Plainfield resident who was ticketed for failing to yield while making a left turn.

Motorcyclist Dies Following Rolling Meadows Motorcycle Accident

A motorcyclist died Sunday (June 11, 2017) from accident injuries that resulted from a June 1 motorcycle accident in Rolling Meadows.

The motorcyclist, Chris Monsen, 27, of Buffalo Grove, died at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.

At approximately 9:30 p.m. June 1, Monsen was riding his motorcycle on the entrance ramp to northbound Route 53 from Algonquin Road when he crossed lanes of traffic and crashed into a concrete barrier dividing express and local lanes, family members had said.  He died about 11 a.m. Sunday.
