There was an Illinois motorcycle crash on Monday (September 29, 2014) in Murphysboro, Illinois.

This motorcycle accident happened on Highway 127 and Ava Road, and involved a collision between a motorcycle and car.

According to an initial investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, the collision happened as the motorcyclist was riding a 2002 Harley Davidson north on Highway 127 when the bike was struck in the side by a car.

The motorcyclist, identified as William Beers, 62, of Collinsville, was taken to a Murphysboro hospital, and then flown to a St. Louis hospital for treatment of injuries.

The driver of the car was identified as Laurie Wallace, 53, of Pomona.  She was not injured during the collision.

Wallace was cited for failure to yield.

Motorcyclist Dies Following Collision In Joliet

There was a fatal motorcycle accident September 25, 2014 in Joliet.  In this crash, the motorcyclist was fatally injured and the motorcycle passenger was in critical condition.

According to Joliet Police, the accident happened at approximately 9:00 p.m.,  in the 700 block of Railroad Street as the motorcyclist was pulling out of the  B&B Riverfront Bar and Grill.  At that time, the northbound motorcyclist “sideswiped” a car as he attempted to change lanes.

After the collision, the motorcyclist, identified as  Patrick McDermott, 52, of Joliet, was airlifted to Loyola University Medical Center, for treatment of his accident injuries.  According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, he died early the next morning.

The female passenger on the motorcycle was transferred to Loyola University Medical Center in critical condition.   Her injuries are reported to include “severe leg injuries.”

Fatal Elgin Motorcycle Crash

There was a Illinois fatal motorcycle crash in Elgin, Illinois on Saturday evening, September 27, 2014.

This motorcycle crash involved the motorcycle colliding with a SUV at approximately 7:20 p.m.  The accident happened at Bowles and Nolan Roads.

According to Elgin Police, the motorcyclist, William Maglares, 36, of Elgin, was riding a 2012 Harley Davidson west on Bowes at a high rate of speed, when the motorcycle “rear-ended” the SUV, which was also traveling west.

Maglares was taken for treatment of his injuries to Presence St. Joseph Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the SUV, identified as  a 28-year-old man from Elgin, was not injured in this motorcycle crash.
